Sunday Market - August 9

As I mentioned in last week's market post, I am trying to find themes at the market. This week's theme is market baskets and bags. Once we started looking, we noticed that there were several varieties:
woven reed, straw or wood baskets,
pulled or pushed baskets and carts,
logo and printed bags
and collapsible market baskets.
What do you carry at the market?

Heh, that picture set looks like something you'd see in a flash slide show from Bill Cunningham's On The Street 'column' in the NYTimes.

Thanks, Basconet. I was worried about showing too many butts!

We always end up taking whatever reusable shopping bags are at the top of the pile! I think we have about 50 of them.

Now for why I think bags are best. The market often gets VERY crowded, especially on the far side from City Hall between the vendor I like to think of as the pea lady and The Breadery. You can always pull a bag in front of you as you try to burrow through the crowd, but baskets, pull carts, etc, not so much.

Great pictures!

Beth... also, the pea and the flower people on the other side of the market are having a feud and the flower people are really sticking their tables waaaaay out in the aisle. it really bottlenecks there. such a pain.
